Anton font free download: the ZIP below holds a single font file with one static weight and 1,373 glyphs, plus the OFL licence.
Yes — Anton is free for commercial use, including in a logo you trademark
Anton is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL). You can use it in client work, logos, products you sell, apps and print, without paying and without asking permission.
Anton is a rework of a traditional advertising sans by Vernon Adams. The letterforms were digitised from that tradition and then reshaped specifically for screen rendering: counters opened up, stems optimised so the face survives browser rasterisation at large sizes. It has one weight and no intention of having more. Anton is a poster face.
We read the license state from the font file itself rather than from a listing. The embedding permission flag (fsType) is 0 — Installable, the least restrictive value in the OpenType specification.

What the OFL license actually lets you do
You can:
- Use Anton in commercial projects, including client work you bill for
- Use Anton in a logo or brand identity, and trademark that logo
- Sell products that use Anton — merchandise, packaging, book covers
- Embed Anton in websites, apps, games, PDFs and ebooks
- Modify Anton and redistribute your modified version
You cannot:
- Sell the font file on its own, outside a larger bundled product
- Distribute it without the OFL license file
- Release a modified version under a Reserved Font Name
No attribution is required in your design. The OFL only asks that the license file travels with the font files.
Inside the file: 1,373 glyphs and 978 characters

Anton ships 1,373 glyphs covering 978 Unicode codepoints.
Vietnamese, and 12 other languages in full

Tested against the full alphabets of a reference set of languages, Anton fully covers 13:
Vietnamese · Spanish · French · German · Portuguese · Italian · Polish · Czech · Turkish · Romanian · Hungarian · Dutch · Nordic (da/no/sv)
Vietnamese is fully supported, including stacked diacritics such as ế, ộ, ữ and ỹ — worth checking before you commit, because many free families stop at Latin Extended-A and silently drop them.
Which Unicode blocks those 978 characters cover
| Block | Covered |
|---|---|
| Basic Latin | 95 / 96 |
| Latin-1 Supplement | 96 / 96 |
| Latin Extended-A | 128 / 128 |
| Latin Extended-B | 173 / 208 |
| IPA Extensions | 32 / 96 |
| Greek | 4 / 144 |
| Latin Extended Additional | 242 / 256 |
OpenType features: 20 in the file

One static weight, by design
Anton ships as a single static weight with no variable axes. That is a design decision rather than a gap — it means you cannot build a weight hierarchy from this family alone, and will need a second face for anything requiring contrast between levels.
A tall x-height (0.732) — drawn to hold at small sizes
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Units per em | 2,048 |
| Ascender | 2,409 |
| Descender | -674 |
| Cap height ratio | 0.859 |
| x-height ratio | 0.732 |
An x-height ratio of 0.732 is high. Large lowercase letters make text look bigger at the same point size and hold up well at small sizes and on low-resolution screens — the trade is that long passages can feel dense.
Right for posters, wrong for paragraphs
Good fit: Posters, hero headlines, packaging, YouTube thumbnails, anything that needs to shout in one line.
Poor fit: Anything longer than a headline, and any layout needing weight contrast — there is only one weight to work with.
